BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Detangle your natural hair fully before arriving
  • Have your extensions clean and product-free
  • Review your stylist's specific prep instructions
  • Allow 3–5 hours for your appointment

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL INSTALLS

  • Moisturize your scalp regularly between appointments.
  • Wash every 2 weeks OR as needed depending on install.
  • Use a wide-tooth comb, detangle ends first
  • Wrap hair nightly in a silk or satin scarf
  • Return for a touch-up within the recommended window

Daily Maintenance

A simple daily routine keeps your extensions looking fresh and extends their wear.

  • Detangle gently from ends to roots using a wide-tooth comb
  • Avoid sleeping with wet hair
  • Use a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction
  • Keep edges moisturized without applying heavy product to the wefts

Less is more — avoid over-manipulating your extensions daily.
Washing Your Extensions

Proper washing preserves the integrity of the hair and keeps your scalp healthy.

  • Wash every 2 weeks or as needed depending on install.
  • Use a sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoo
  • Wash in a downward motion — never circular
  • Deep condition from mid-shaft to ends
  • Rinse thoroughly with cool water to seal the cuticle
Heat Styling

Our hair can handle heat styling — use it wisely to maintain longevity.

  • Always apply a heat protectant before using any hot tools
  • Keep flat irons at 350°F or below
  • Allow hair to cool before brushing or styling
  • Limit heat to 2–3 times per week maximum

Excessive heat will shorten the lifespan of your extensions.
Coloring & Lifting

Private Hair Society extensions can be colored and lifted for a customized look.

  • Hair can be lifted up to a level 613
  • Always have a professional colorist perform the service
  • Deep condition after any color service
  • Do not attempt to bleach at home

We recommend professional coloring to preserve integrity and longevity.
Nighttime Routine

How you sleep matters just as much as how you style.

  • Braid or loosely twist hair before bed
  • Wrap in a silk or satin scarf
  • Sleep on a satin pillowcase as backup
  • Never sleep with wet or damp extensions
